Get breaking news, Weather, School Cancellations/delays/early dismissals, coupons and more sent instantly to your cell phone or PDA as a text message or in an email. Please Note: Breaking news have two version. One for day time only alerts and the other for 24/7 coverage. Weather alerts by county are sent 24/7. Daily weather alerts are sent 8am each morning and feature the weather from our website.
How Do I Sign Up?
Step 1: Provide us with your name and contact information, then select the alerts you want to receive. Do not close the browser.
Step 2: A 5-digit Authorization Code will be sent to your cell phone, PDA or pager as a text message. Enter the 5-digit Authorization Code online to complete the sign-up process. (If you sign-up up for email only, the code will be sent to your email address.)
Choose From the Following Message Categories:
1. News - choose to get Breaking News and AMBER Alerts. Sign-up for Daily Headlines (email only).2. Weather - be alerted when there is severe weather in our area. Get the local forecast sent to your phone each morning. 3. Severe Weather Alerts - By County - Weather alerts sent 24/7 by the National Weather Service. 4. Local Traffic Info - be alerted to local traffic delays and area construction5. School Closings - get a message when you school is closed6. Please complete the information below. Enter your mobile phone number and select your wireless carrier. You can also receive email messages, to do so, simply enter your email address. Please provide either a mobile phone number or an email address, or both.
In the next step of the sign up process, we will send a personal authorization code to your mobile phone or email address. You will need to enter the code in the next screen within (5) minutes in order to verify and complete your enrollment in the system. Important: Our systems are tested for performance and reliability on a frequent basis. However, normal network transmission limitations can occur from time-to-time and may cause delays in the receipt of messages.
